Who We Are

The Salem Regional Office of Legal Aid Services of Oregonprovides advice and representation to low-income citizens in Marion and Polk counties.

Our office is currently closed to entry by the public.  We are providing telephone-only appointments for new-client intakes.  We are taking these measures as part of our office’s effort to limit COVID-19 spread. 

Telephone hours

Monday through Thursday:  9:00 a.m. to noon, and 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Friday 9:00 a.m. to noon

 

You will be able to leave a message during these hours.

 

The Salem office provides advice and representation in the following areas:

Family Law cases when the applicant is a survivor of domestic violence, including divorce, child custody, and restraining or civil stalking protective orders.

Housing law, including federally-subsidized housing problems.

Public Benefits, including TANF, Food Stamps/SNAP, and Medicare or Medicaid/Oregon Health Plan cases. SSI and SSD overpayments and terminations only.

Senior Issues (60 years of age or older), including assisted living facility problems, guardianships and conservatorship defense, and debt collection and financial abuse.

Spanish speaking staff are also available.
