Homeowner Portections During the COVID-19 Pandemic

A federal law passed in the wake of the COVID-19 Pandemic, the CARES Act, provides foreclosure relief for “federally-backed mortgage loans,” which means mortgage loans (for 1- to 4- family properties) purchased, securitized, owned, insured, or guaranteed by Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac, or owned, insured, or guaranteed by FHA, VA, or USDA.
