Public Benefits Hotline - Legal Aid Services of Oregon (LASO) and Oregon Law Center (OLC)

LASO and OLC are nonprofit organization that provide free legal help to Oregonians struggling to make ends meet on matters related to their homes, livelihoods, medical care, and physical safety. OLC & LASO help people with incomes up to 125% of the federal poverty level and in some situations, can help people slightly above this level.

OLC and LASO jointly run the Public Benefits Hotline for low-income Oregonians who need help with government benefits, including disability benefits, Oregon Health Plan, food stamps, unemployment benefits, and more. (Callers from Jackson County should call the Center for Non-Profit Legal Services for help instead).

The hotline is staffed by lawyers and paralegals from OLC and LASO. Hotline lawyers can provide brief legal advice and referrals to every eligible caller. In complicated situations, eligible callers may be referred to their local legal aid office for more help.
