Jennifer Esmay, JD

Jennifer Jill Esmay is an attorney at the Center for Non Profit Legal Services (the Center or legal aid) who focuses on public benefits and administrative law. She has a BA in Business from Florida Intl University, and a JD from Lewis & Clark Law School.
 
After her first year of law school, she was a law clerk at the Portland City Attorney's Office, After her second year and while still in law school, she worked for the Oregon Judicial Department in Multnomah County as a family law facilitator and law clerk; and in her final year of law school, she was a certified law student (CLS) at the Multnomah County District Attorney's office, where she's tried misdemeanor and civil commitment cases. 
 
After law school, her legal career included serving as a volunteer extern at the Oregon Supreme Court and managing a legal publishing company focused on labor and employment law. Jennifer has worked at legal aid in Medford for 9 years in various capacities, but mostly she has focused on Social Security, Medicaid, and Medicare laws, as well as Unemployment Insurance benefits for low-income Jackson County residents.
