Melissa Haggerty, JD

Melissa Haggerty is an attorney at Legal Aid's Portland Regional office. In her current role, she is the interim Regional Director of the office. 

Prior to working for Legal Aid, she represented hundreds of clients through the Social Security disability application and appeals process.

Her casework focuses on public benefit issues that have the greatest impact on low-income Oregonians. She continues to specialize in Social Security matters, but also represents clients in long-term care issues, unemployment cases, Oregon Health Plan denials, and other public benefit matters.
