Oregon Judicial Department Family Law Facilitation Services
The Oregon Judicial Branch (OJD) is Oregon's state court system. It includes the state's circuit, appellate, and tax courts. OJD also runs a Family Law Facilitation program, which assists people without attorneys dealing with family law matters.
If you're going through a divorce, trying to establish custody, or dealing with other family court matters, your local court facilitator can help. Family law facilitators can explain court processes, help you find and fill out court forms, and provide general assistance with your family law case. Some facilitators also help with court forms in restraining order cases. These services are free and available to anyone, regardless of income.
Most counties provide in-person facilitator services at the courthouse. Some counties offer walk-in services, while others require an appointment. You can find contact information for your local facilitator on the Oregon Judicial Department website.
Remote services (by phone or video) are also available through the Northwest Oregon Facilitation Initiative, Southern Oregon Facilitation Initiative, and Greater Oregon Facilitation Initiative for people living in some Oregon counties.
