Access the Law
Access the Law is a nonprofit that serves working and low income families and individuals.
Access the Law provides legal help on a sliding fee scale, including legal consultations, brief services, and full representation in most civil matters. Free services are available for veterans who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
Areas of legal help include, but are not limited to, family law, bankruptcy, debt issues, landlord-tenant disputes, estate planning, guardianship, and small business disputes. Criminal cases are not covered.
There are no income limits to receive services. Most clients pay $100 for a one-hour first meeting with an attorney. After that, fees are based on income.
