Transition Projects/Metropolitan Public Defender, Community Law Division - Veterans Justice Project
In coordination with Transition Projects Inc. (TPI) and the Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program, Metropolitan Public Defender Veteran’s Project helps Veterans overcome the obstacles to permanent housing.
The Veteran’s Justice Project provides information and legal representation to Veterans with very low incomes who are homeless or at risk of losing housing. The Project helps Veterans overcome legal barriers to securing and retaining stable and permanent housing like eviction defense, reasonable accommodations, records expungement, and debt management. To be eligible, clients must at or below 80% of the Average Median Income (AMI).
